Scavenger teams - requesting rules details

Vic (presumably nobody else has this info),

As a long-standing rules-obsessive, I'm kindly requesting details on the hit rate for scavenger teams:

    Do they have equal chances for each resource, or are some more heavily weighted?
    Are there different bonuses for the different town hexes (town, city, megalopolis, etc)?
    Just what ARE those chances?
    Are there diminishing returns for stacking multiple teams in the same hex?

It will be very much appreciated if you can provide any info. Thank you.

From the manual:

Scavengers - The unit can scavenge resources from the wasteland. In order for this to happen the unit must be in a hex that is in supply and not contested or controlled by an enemy player. At the beginning of the turn when resources are harvested for each player a random (d20) roll is made. If the unit is in a “City”, “Town” or “Rare Special” hex that contains some type of resource already then a +4 modifier is added to the roll.
Random Number Resources Harvested
24 1 H, 1M, 1E, 1T
20, 21, 22, 23 1 each of 3 random resources
17, 18, 19 1 each of 2 random resources
11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 1 each of 1 random resources
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 None


So they get more from special hexes, and resources generated are random.

Wow, to think it was in the manual. Thanks, PD.

Well, just to make this post worth reading: comparing the table with and without the +4 bonus: scav teams in a city/town (and presumbably megalopolis) hex will return 1.4 resources/turn. Those elsewhere return only .75. There's no mention of a stacking penalty so I assume none applies. An 87% resource premium makes getting the teams into cities (or "rare specials containing resources" - meaning independent bases with resources, ref. manual p 14) pretty much non-negotiable.

Yes, no stacking limits...the only downside is that if it gets hit by an AI army, but they aren't as flimsy as an outrider so they can probably survive a retreat.

I've actually used them as garrisons before. And the recce ability makes rooting out stealth units in your bases easier.
